Here at Invisible Children, we are all about the challenge. Since settling into Chicago, we have been craving that “something” to keep us on our toes. And though trying to make it to every art festival and concert is a lifestyle of its own, the deep dish is getting to our beach bods. And we figured, why not add a physical challenge to the list?
So, as we told you last week we are officially putting together at team for the Chicago Half. Eat your heart out. Our very own Kimmie Chirillo, of the Chicago Street Team, has made it her personal goal to have a dedicated group of world changers hit the streets, in a whole new way. Quirky as she is, per-training in what her family calls, “frog shoes”(Vibram Five Fingers), originality and individuality is encouraged. Always.
Now that you know that runners from Usain Bolt to Phoebe from friends are welcome, Kimmie has come up with a sure-fire training schedule to bring our Chicago Invisible Children running team to the finish line in September.
We are out to have a good time, and fight the cute kangaroo pouch that no summer bod wants. And what’s better, is we are spreading awareness through every step. We are looking for friends to join us in morning jogs and bi-weekly cross fit in the park.
Our official group training will begin on Monday, June 25th at 7am. We will meet at North Ave Beach, for a four mile beginners jog. Being beginners ourselves, we are looking to utilize this schedule as our new calendar, bible, and best friend.
Who doesn’t need more best friends? A reason to get fit? An early wake up? A coffee?….Just come.
Hit up our email if you want to give it a shot! Looking forward to becoming fast friends! (Get it?…)
